About Me

Hello, I’m Michael (M7OMH), a UK Foundation amateur radio operator based in West Yorkshire. I mostly operate on the 2 metre and 70 centimetre bands, enjoying both local contacts and experimenting with digital modes such as DMR. I’m also active with the MeshCore network, helping to connect local nodes across the region. This website is a simple place to share my interests, experiments, and progress in the hobby.

Bands and Modes

• VHF and UHF – 2 metres (144 MHz) and 70 centimetres (430 MHz)
• Local simplex and repeater operation
• DMR digital voice using BrandMeister and TGIF networks
• Portable operation and antenna testing

MeshCore and Networking

MeshCore is an open mesh communication project that uses low-power devices to build local digital networks. I’m working on testing coverage and reliability across West Yorkshire and looking at ways to link MeshCore with digital radio gateways and other services.
